I was at Blackpool two weeks ago and saw the starlings on a feww evenings. It was amazing. They flew in from every direction and joined together over the pier then swooped around in a gigantic flock. Same time each day. It was breathtaking and truly a work of nature.
They are a very special site but not easy to photograph.
We go to Blackpool twixt Xmas and New Year and have seen the starlings It is a really amazing site. They cover the width of the pier and the noise they make. It is always the highlight of our break. I have never seen anything like it anywhere else. We always expect to see Bill Oddie there filming.
just got back from a weekend at blackpool feb 16th 2010.
we saw thousands and thousands of starlings above the north pier at dusk.
