Blackpool Pictures from the top of the Tower – Sunday 2/11
Bright sunny day.
The Norbreck Castle at Bispham in a patch of bright sun. Morecambe Bay and the Lake District in the background.
Zoomed across Morecambe bay to Barrow and the dock yards.
Digitally zoomed in further to clearly see the huge BAE ship yard buildings at Barrow.
The City of Preston in the distance.
Towards the pleasure Beach without any zoom. Clearly shows the construction of the new prom and three of the new headlands. You could easily get a couple of football pitches on each one.
Part of the wind farm near to Barrow. Hardly visible with the naked eye from the top of the Tower but each one is a similar height.
Blackpool and fylde College, the River Wyre estuary behind, then Morecambe Bay and Haysham power station.
lots of construction work still taking place on the new prom.
I can just make out the shape of the gasometer at Kew in the haze above the Ribble estuary.

sensational photo’s. the detail is mind-boggling- clearer than even binoculars !. views to lakeland peaks are stunning & provide a great backdrop, especially the recent snow-capped ones. this link might interest you if you’re not already aware of it , to identify everything you’re seeing.
