The lonesome Seal

The lonesome Seal

For about an hour or so there was a single grey seal swimming about in the calm see about 200 metres off shore. Difficult to shoot and focus on without a more powerful zoom lens. perhaps he had come to watch the sunset as well?

Tram Sunday 20th July 08

A very old restored tram passing through Rossall on its way to the Tram Sunday event in Fleetwood.

The old observatory building on the mound at Fleetwood.

Penny and finlay with the Town Cryer on his way back from opening Tram Sunday.

Trains used to run from Euston up the west coast line all the way to Fleetwood. hence there is a big hotel at the end of the prom Called the ‘North Euston’. but even in the great days of steam you would not have seen an engine parked outside the front door!

More tram Sunday pictures to follow.

Saturday 19th July

as you can see from my shadow it was a bright sunny day in blackpool. even so the wind that was giving the golfers a hard time at the open just down the coast was whipping the sand accross the beach.

Sunday 13th July- A bright breezy day.

Bike Racing on the Prom – Friday 4th July

There is a couple of days of biog cycling events thid weekend based around Blackpool.

These riders were doing a 1.25 mile circuit up and down the prom in front of the tower. They were really moving and must have gone up and down about 20 times while I was watching!

it was difficult to get clear shots they were going that fast.

Walking back home at about 9pm. Sunset over the north Pier.

About 10 days a year when the air is very clear (and this was one of them) you can just make out the isle of Mann on the horizon.

The moutains of cumbria were also fairly clear just before sunset accrodd Morcombe Bay.
